God has been so good to us! If you have been part of the Heritage family for the past couple of years, you have been able to see God provide blessings that are utterly amazing. We are so appreciative and are thanking Him every day for His favor toward Cadillac Heritage Christian School.
He has taken us from the 2000-2001 school year (my first year as school administrator) when our high school had one senior, one junior, two sophomores and four freshman and a budget shortfall of $175,000.00, to this past school year where, for the first time in about 15 years, we ended the school year with a budget surplus of $750.00 and 2 ½ times the number of students in grades 9-12.
In the past two years, because of designated gifts (the donor specifies what the gift is to be used for) we have been blessed with new administrative offices, remodeled classrooms, $14,000.00 worth of classroom equipment acquired for under $2,500.00, $4,000.00 worth of equipment for our music department, the remodel of both our boys’ and girls’ bathrooms, two new pieces of playground equipment, a 15 passenger van for school use, an underground sprinkler system for our soccer field, central air conditioning in the main building and a camera surveillance system. Again, all of these items were donated – no money from our operating budget was used. AND, our student count has grown to 117 students – the most we have had in15 years. All of this when our country has been experiencing economic conditions that are the worst we have seen in decades. Praise God for His many blessings!
God is continuing to bless us this year. As you probably know, we started this school year, as we have every year for the 29 years our school has been in existence, with a budget shortfall. This year the shortfall was over $50,000.00. We have reduced that amount by receiving $5,000.00 more from our annual auction than we usually do, receiving a $2,500.00 gift that was not expected and by adding new students. We still need to come up with about $40,000.00 to reach a balanced budget. To help us meet that need, one of our school families has just offered us a $10,000.00 matching challenge.
If we can raise $10,000.00 by December 30, they will match it with an additional $10,000.00. What a blessing! That $20,000.00 will go a long way toward meeting our needs for this year.
Please pray with us that God would move in the hearts of His people and that this matching challenge will be met by December 30 so that we are able to receive the additional $10,000.00.
Please do not hesitate to call either of us if you have any questions about this matching challenge or the school in general. We would consider it a privilege to speak with you.
