We will begin to feature areas of the student handbook in the Town Crier as space allows.
This week we will focus on Playground Rules, (page 24).
1. Students are expected to follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Students will show respect to the playground supervisors at all times. They will address the supervisors by their
proper name, i.e.: Mrs. Jones, Mr. Smith.
3. Students must stay within the playground area.
4. Students must position themselves so that they are able to see the playground supervisor at all times.
5. To insure everyone’s safety, the following activities will not be allowed:
a. Playing with sticks or any object that could cause physical harm.
b. Fighting, wresting, games that involve tackling, reckless horseplay or actions which involve pushing, hitting,
kicking, karate movements, tripping, scratching, biting, pulling hair, spitting and kissing.
c. Throwing snowballs, ice balls or anything thrown to intentionally hit another child.
d. Skateboards, inline skates, water pistols and other dangerous objects are not to be brought to school.
6. No food or drink on the playground.
7. No name calling, bullying or picking on other children.
8. Use playground equipment safely and properly.
9. Stay outside until recess is over.
10. Line up to go inside as soon as the line-up bell or whistle sounds. Use proper behavior while in line.
11. Enter the building in a quiet and orderly manner.
