I’m Miss Erica Fluture and I am the primary 7/8th grade teacher. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from Grand Valley State University in 2004, and my Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) from Baker College in 2009. I have several experiences substitute teaching and last year I worked as a Title I paraprofessional in the Lake City Middle School. This is my first position as a full-time teacher in my own classroom!
About Me:
I grew up in Lake City, and attended Lake City Schools from pre-school through the twelfth grade, all the while learning to love learning! Education became my passion and I knew I wanted no other career than to be a teacher. Unfortunately, I had a difficult time finding teaching positions after graduating college, and after 3 years I decided to pursue a second interest as an RN. Though there were parts of that profession that I enjoyed, I did not feel the total satisfaction, fulfillment, and joy that I feel when I am in the classroom. I found myself moving back to the schools, first as an aide, and now, finally, as a teacher with a classroom of my own! I was a student-athlete in school and I still thoroughly enjoy both participating in and watching sports. I also love music and singing, I am active in several roles in my church, and I enjoy arts and crafts of all sorts.I feel so blessed to have been given this opportunity to share my love of learning and Christian example with the students at CHCS!
